The classic Mac startup chime no longer plays when The new MacBook Pro with the new touch bar. Is it just me or is this a feature with the new Mac notebook ? I'll be most grateful if somebody can suggest a workaround =/ .

Can't copy files to external USB drive on my Mac

In order to exchange files, after connecting a friend’s USB hard drive to my Mac, I can read and copy files from it, but cannot copy my files to that drive. It seems locked. In fact, this happens with every USB disk that I connect to my Mac computer.

What’s wrong? How can I resolve this?

How to get rid of translucency of full screen videos on Mac OS X Mavericks

I recently noticed that whenever I watch a video in full screen on the Mac, the video has a certain level of translucency showing the contents of the window or the desktop behind it. This occurs with all YouTube videos I open in the browser as well as VLC Player, and more and more I find the lack of opacity disturbing.

I haven't tested with every other video player I have yet.

I haven't tested what happens with multiple monitors yet either.

Any suggestions to get rid of this translucency will be greatly appreciated.
