The USB disk you are using must be formatted in NTFS format. On Mac OS X, you can read NTFS disks but cannot write to them (or delete any files on NTFS) by default.

From the Go menu in Finder, select Go To Folder... (or just press Command + Shift + G) , type in /private/etc and then hit Return. The hosts file is there.

If you're gonna work in the Terminal, just tpye cd /private/etc to reach the directory or if you're gonna edit it with a command line-based text editing tool like pico, nano or vi you can simply type:

$ sudo pico /private/etc/hosts

$ sudo vi /private/etc/hosts

$ sudo nano /private/etc/hosts

RetePlus in simple terms allows objects in working memory (WM) to be inserted/deleted/updated, then evaluated and matched with the conditions on the rules. Any rules that do match get put into an agenda and then fired. If those rules change data in working memory, this could potentially fire more rules whose conditions match the changed objects. The cycle continues until there are no more rules that match the objects in WM.

Sequential pretty much runs through the rules in the specified order, firing off rules whose conditions match the objects then exits. Any changes to data will not be re-evaluated and will not fire further rules.

There is also Fastpath, that sits in between. It uses the condition matching capability of RetePlus (for performance reasons), but does not re-evaluate changed data (so is not cyclical).

If you have more than one JPA persistence unit defined in your persistence.xml file, you need to set

and then list every entity class with a mapping definition for each.

On Windows use the following command:

netstat -aon | more

You can remove the more operand followed by a pipe if your command line window buffer is large enough to scroll through the list.

On UNIX and the Mac (OS X):

netstat -na | grep LISTEN

You can add grep 80 followed by a pipe sign, for example, to list all ports starting with 80 (including 8080, 8081, and so on...) being listened to.

For IBM BPM 7.5.x:

When you run the bootstrapProcessServerData command, configuration data for the BPM applications is loaded into the database. This data is required for the BPM applications to run correctly.

Note: This command runs automatically when you create a stand-alone profile and choose to create the database during profile creation.

If you create a stand-alone profile and delay the database table setup, you must run the bootstrap command after the database and its tables have been created and before the server is started for the first time.
In a network deployment (ND) environment, you must run this command after a server or cluster of servers is created. For a cluster, you need to run the command only once, specifying a single cluster member. Run this command after the database and its tables have been created, after the profile and deployment environment have been created, and before the first server is started. You do not need to rerun the command if you add another cluster member.

Procedure

Run the bootstrap utility from the command line. The bootstrap utility is found in the stand-alone or deployment manager profile directory. For example:

Run the bootstrap utility using the following syntax:

-dbJDBCClasspath is the location of the database JDBC driver. The value specified for the dbJBBCClasspath must be surrounded by quotation marks if there are spaces in the path. This parameter is not required for IBM Business Process Manager 7.5.0.1 and later.
-nodeName is the name of the node. This parameter is required with -serverName for an ND environment. Do not specify for stand-alone.
-serverName is the name of the server. This parameter is required with -nodeName for an ND environment. Do not specify for stand-alone.
-clusterName (for 7.5.0.1 and later only) is the name of the application target cluster. For an ND environment, you can specify this parameter instead of the -nodeName and -serverName parameters.

The parameters are case-sensitive.

This might have happened due to a fact that bootstrapping process server data might not have properly been performed.

After creating the deployment environment (which I suppose you have already done) make sure you bootstrap the data for the BPM (process server) database.
